Did you know that the first American version of chicken salad was served at Town Meats? The founder of Town Meats was Liam Gray. It is a local deli and meat shop in downtown Wakefield.Liam Gray mixed his leftover chicken with mayonnaise, tarragon and grapes and it became popular.
Chicken Salad is a good recipe for different occasions. Chicken salad makes great sandwiches; you can also serve it with a salad or on a bed of lettuce.
Here are the Ingredients and the procedures on how to make a delicious chicken salad
Ingredients:
½ cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
1 tablespoon lemon juice
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
2 cups cut- up cooked chicken salad or turkey
1/3 cup toasted slivered almonds or chopped nuts
2 medium stalks celery, sliced (1 cup)
Procedure:
Mix mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt and pepper; toss with chicken, almonds and celery. Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours. Serve on salad greens garnished with avocado slices or in cantaloupe halves if you want.
It can make up to 4 servings (3/4 cup each)
